WHAT DOES BLUE MEAN ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES?WHERE DO WE FIND IT? By Jérémie Ntirandekura Gakinga

WHAT DOES BLUE MEAN ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES?WHERE DO WE FIND IT?

In the Torah we read: "Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels of on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, And that you may remember and do all my commandments, and be holy for you God."(Numbers 15:38-40)

Ribbon of blue on the garments reminds of commandments.
On mountain Sinai it was seen like sapphire stone the color of the sky.

"Then Moses went up,also Aaron, Na-dab,and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, And they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity."(Exodus 24:9-10).

The second stone in the holy city foundation "The foundations of wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony the fourth emerald"(Revelation 21:19)

And the promised foundation for believers in Isaiah 54:11:

"O you afflicted one, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires".

Blue is found on the robe of the High Priest. From it hang the pomegranates, a symbol of the seed of Abraham believing in His law and surrounded by the blood of Jesus.
