“I am sure in the Lord Jesus that when leaders attract self-promoting authority to themselves, they claim authority to discipline brothers and sisters and boast an authority for themselves above others, hierarchically, an environment of the darkest sorcery has established itself and the Spirit of God withdrew from the middle.  God forbid such a disaster.  True authority is manifested when we do not need to defend it, when we serve to heal and restore lives and when we take off our clothes, take a bucket of water and wash the feet of the disciples. ”  - #ASONE

Authority in the Church

Josimar Salum 

There is a crisis of authority in the church. I am talking about true authority based on servant-hood. 

Authority is based on mutual relationships, close mentoring and the natural result of day by day discipleship. 

Relationships in the church spectrum are becoming shallow, weak and self interest driven. 

Authority is not based in gifting and talent only.  

Authority is about a submissive and a humble heart instead of performance and popularity. 

Authority is about being empowered and not self promoted.
