Independence Day message: America & Freedom by J Salum

FREEDOM: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 NIV

My friend Paul Taylor just released his Independence Day message as he does every year. And I want to quote the following portion as a reminder that freedom is not a religious concept that I have to narrow it into a "spiritual box".

"I also am reminded of the freedom I possess in Jesus Christ. “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36. We celebrate our Independence Day here in the United States. (July 4th, 2016) I am so thankful for the freedom we share here, but it is nothing compared to what You and I possess in Christ!  It is that freedom that we preach that will set you free from the bondage of religion and the prison of your own mind. May the Lord give you insight into the freedom you possess in Him!"

Yes, my king Paul! However many in the name of "God" subdue their nations, communities and even "churches" and families under a tyranny of oppression. There is no freedom if a man or woman has no INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES .

Let me quote what personal liberties mean: "Civil liberties or personal freedoms are personal guarantees and freedoms that the government (and anybody else) cannot abridge, either by law or by judicial interpretation without due process. Civil liberties include the freedom from torture, freedom from forced disappearance, freedom of conscience, freedom of press, freedom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, the right to security and liberty, freedom of speech, the right to privacy, the right to equal treatment under the law and due process, the right to a fair trial, and the right to life. Other civil liberties include the right to own property, the right to defend oneself, and the right to bodily integrity."

Take a look what Dr. Lance Wallnau just published yesterday: "The government is daily expanding power under the guise of solving problems. The forces of socialism are colliding with the instinct of freedom and in the Brexit, as in America, a wind of Awakening is beginning to blow.

"Christians" have an advantage in all this. We have a perspective that explains the problem in unambiguous terms.

God designed the universe to operate with Himself as the One who rules. He designed man to walk with Him and gave man the authority to shape his environment. God first, man under God, and governments UNDER man.

This was the unique—never before done—experiment of the Founding Fathers. It is the story of what made America unique in breaking from Europe and the world."

And in America today we have let secularism, humanism, socialism, and worst of all, egoism and pride to distance ourselves from the ethics and fundaments of the Bible. With the loss of divine values in America we lost our conscience on morality and every man is now like Israel “doing what is right in their own eyes”

Truly freedom is the unique right that makes the Bible so amazing. The Bible is the source from what our forefathers got inspired to write and shape our Constitution. And I also mean, the greatest revelation in Scriptures for me is the revelation of Freedom. And Freedom speaks of all freedoms and not of a intangible spiritual reality. And Freedom to be who God wants us to be which begins with freedom of sin indeed.
