THE MEASURE OF A MAN By Josimar Salum

 THE MEASURE OF A MAN

By Josimar Salum

We must humble ourselves before our Father. No matter how much revelation, insight, or spiritual authority we may receive, we must clothe ourselves with humility, as the Holy Spirit instructs us:

“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” (1 Peter 5:5, NIV)

Revelation is a gift from God, but it often comes with a personal cost. It can separate us from the familiar, burden us with responsibility, and confront us with truths that others are not yet prepared to receive or that we ourselves were not ready to bear.

This is why we must always walk in the measure of a man

“LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath;

His days are like a passing shadow.” (Psalm 144:3–4, NKJV)

The measure of a man is not in his stature, education, achievements, charisma, or influence. It is not in how many people follow him, nor in the size of his platform or ministry.

The true measure of a man is his character, his obedience, and his submission to God.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, to love mercy,And to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

To remain in the measure of a man means:

Not exalting ourselves above others, even when we receive revelation from the Father.

Remembering our humanity—we are fully dependent on the Holy Spirit, not on our own intellect or ability.

Being sons of God not in pride or presumption, but in humility and joyful obedience.

Choosing to serve, not to rule—because even Christ Himself “emptied Himself” and:

“…took the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:7–8)

The measure of a man is not in how much he knows, but in how deeply he walks with God, how genuinely he loves, and how humbly he serves.

Walking humbly before God and others is the path Christ walked - and the path we are called to follow. We are not superior to anyone simply because the Spirit of God has revealed something to us.

“For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (1 Corinthians 4:7)

There are truths I wish I had never known.

Not all knowledge brings peace. Some knowledge carries weightand sometimes ignorance seems like happiness. But whether God reveals or withholds, whether we understand or remain in mystery, our posture must always be humility.

“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6; Proverbs 3:34)

So let us stay small in our own eyes, and great only in how we love, serve, and obey our Father.
