THE PREACHING OF SALVATION KEEPS PEOPLE FROM MOVING INTO THE MATURITY OF GOD.
Dr. Paul Taylor
I am praying that each of our minds will be renewed to receive the Word. We cannot comprehend the things of God with our carnal mind.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians, "And I, brethren could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ." 1Corinthians 3:1
The preaching of salvation as we know it today keeps people from moving into the fullness of the maturity of God. Paul spoke to the Hebrews about this in Hebrews.
“Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.” Hebrews 6:1-2 NKJV
Paul wrote to those same Corinthian people and to us,
"But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.
For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him?
Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” I Corinthians 2:9-16 NKJV
What the Lord is trying to reveal to all of us is the Fullness of Christ that goes beyond what religion has taught us. It encompasses every aspect of our lives, including our business or family or relationships, etc. Jesus is in all things. All things have been reconciled to Him!
We must allow the Holy Spirit to quicken our minds to even begin to comprehend what that means to us on a daily basis.
Amen! I should have also included the two verses before those I gave you in 1 Corinthians.
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
I Corinthians 2:7-8 NKJV
Think about what the Lord is saying here. The wisdom of God is to reveal the mystery of the ages that has been ordained for us to understand for OUR GLORY! Isn't that interesting. Not for His glory, but for our Glory!
Our Glory is being who He created us to be in His Kingdom. Our glory as sons always gives glory to our Father who gave us life! Our glory is His Glory!
May the Lord reveal those things that He has prepared for our eyes to see and ears to hear and hearts to understand. Amen!
Believing for the impossible.
