CHATTY PEOPLE, POISONOUS TONGUES By Fillipe Moreira
CHATTY PEOPLE, POISONOUS TONGUES
By Fillipe Moreira
What enormous power has such a small organ… and you know that, don't you?
Yes you know, because when they hurt you with words it hurts deep in your soul.
And even after knowing what it's like to be hurt by words, you don't seem to learn your lesson, do you? For you continue to hurt other people with your own words.
Learn one thing! I have already learned it!
You have the power to destroy or brighten someone's day, your tongue has this power!
Why not praise someone without falsehood, without lies, without interests just to make that person's day better?
“There are words that strike like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” Proverbs 12:18
Have you been healing or hurting people?
None of us like to live with people who are liars or fake, because there is never confidence in what they say.
Why not be sincere in your speech? Why not just choose the truth?
“All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." Matthew 5:37
Remember, there is a huge gap between truth and ignorance. It is not appropriate to be ignorant with the excuse of speaking the truth.
Ask yourself what results your words have brought to people. Have you motivated them? Have you cheered them up? Or is everything you just say words of heavy weight, demands and judgments?
What about that person who just speaks ill of others, who is always criticizing what other people do, what about this person?
“Therefore, you, who judge others, are inexcusable; because you are condemning yourself in what you judge, since you, who judge, do the same things. ” Romans 2: 1
What about people who say things they shouldn't say when they are angry, sad or disappointed?
Poor people, they are too weak because they cannot control their feelings and let themselves be dominated by them! Do not let your momentary emotional situation take control over your language.
Allow me to give one last piece of advice to those who want to grow and have a healthy mind...
Stay away from people who gossip, complain about everything, hurt others with their poisonous words. Stay away from toxic people.
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night." Psalms 1:1-2
The wise man is recognized for his silence, and the fool for speaking too much!
"Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin." Proverbs 13:3
"Like golden apples in silver salves, so is the word spoken in its own time." Proverbs 25:11
Let this be our prayer:
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasant before your face, Lord, my rock and my deliverer!” Psalm 19:14

YOU’RE STILL A SLAVE TO SIN by Fillipe Moreira
YOU’RE STILL A SLAVE TO SIN
Fillipe Moreira
Jesus' work on the cross was accomplished more than 2000 years ago. The purpose of this work was to reconcile man with God, to bring back the relationship that was broken, divided and destroyed by man's bad choices.
You were indeed free, for the Son of Man has set you free.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 NIV
Jesus Christ had to suffer for you to be free, my brother, to be free from all religion, all sin, all iniquity. Don't you understand that a life was sacrificed so that you could live free from sin?
And it wasn't just any life, it was the life of a righteous person, a being who never even sinned even in thought. Our Creator, from perfection became human to suffer and die for us so that we would have a life out of sin, a restored relationship.
Our chains are gone, our debt has been paid. But I see many people still sinking deep into sins, iniquities, religion, darkness. This is absurd!
When I look at the bloodstained cross I see freedom, because my Savior's scars were victorious and nothing and no one could prevent them.
The soldiers laughed and mocked Jesus as they whipped him, but what they did not know was that with each lash they gave Jesus it was one more tear in the veil. And when the veil was completely torn, it was the hour that our Savior died, Satan fell, all the power of sin was put down.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1 NIV
“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13 NIV
Love paid for everything to have my heart, now where is my sin? My shame? My iniquities? Christ took them on the cross the moment he said "it is finished".
"When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." John 19:30 NIV
Abandon that petty sin of yours, that's not what Christ set you free for.
Jesus set you free for eternal life, not eternal death.
"In him was LIFE, and that life was the light of all mankind." John 1:4 NIV
You only find life in Jesus, in sin you find death and condemnation.
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10 NIV. What was lost? Our fellowship, our relationship, our life.
Jesus came to save you, but He has no partnership with sin.
You will have to make that decision.
Jesus Christ or get drunk with beer?
Jesus Christ or a cigarette?
Jesus Christ or your sins that you commit when no one sees?
Jesus Christ or bad company?
Remember, before judging Adam and Eve for eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, or Judas for trading Jesus for money, don't forget that you always exchange Him for each of the above.
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Galatians 2:20 NIV
