THE GOSPEL IS NOT A MESSAGE. THE GOSPEL IS A PERSON. Josimar Salum 

The Gospel is not a message. The Gospel is a Person. Jesus Himself is this Person. 

“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:23-24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same SPIRIT OF FAITH, we also believe and therefore speak,” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬ 

Faith is a Spirit. Faith is the Holy Spirit. That is why the Bible tells that “without Faith is impossible to please God”, in other words, without the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to please God.” Would you think that we can please God with something from us?

 

Here we are called to the Truth. Believing goes hand in hand with repentance and baptism. It's after believing that we make the decision to RECEIVE JESUS AS LORD AND KING, then we are born again, in other words, we receive the POWER to become sons of God. If is not receiving Jesus as a Savior (He is already) that result is us being born again, but by submitting under His Lordship and Kingship.
