PORTUGAL - URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.*

Beloved brother and sister:

Tomorrow, 10/20/2019 I will preach on Terceira Island in Portugal. I need your prayers. I need you to ask your church to pray for me and all my listeners.

Pray also for Pastor Carlos Couveiro and his family who are church leaders.  The work of this servant of God was marked by great faithfulness.

  Pray for a great outpouring of the Spirit.  We are also asking the Lord to cooperate with us to leave a revival call this Sunday and the days when you will follow when you will continue as you pass through the streets and places.

Your prayer is very important. Only prayer to the Living God can open the heavens to transform this country.

  We spent the last three days in Lisbon praying for the nation and all its immigrants around as we went through many, many places.

  My aunt Maria Jose (79 years old) accompanies me on this trip.  And yesterday we arrived at Terceira Island, a beautiful island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

  Portugal is the historical root of Brazil.  It is an ancient civilization.  Portugal needs Jesus immensely, Jesus the only Lord!

  “In 1139, during a Christian reconquest, it was founded in the Kingdom of Portugal from the Portucalense port, born between the Minho and Douro rivers.  The stabilization of its borders in 1297 made Portugal or European country with the oldest borders.  But the history of Portugal as a European nation goes back to the Lower Middle Ages, when Porto Portucalense became autonomous in the kingdom of León. However, the history of human presence in Portugal's territory began much earlier.  The territory was used by several peoples: Phoenicians (people that originated the Lebanese people) who did many improvements, later replaced by Carthaginians.  Celtic peoples settled and mingled with the natives.  "

Portugal is an extremely religious country.  Religion in Portugal is very strong and very present.  Some of the largest monuments in Portugal are “churches”.

  Catholicism is predominant in this European country and about 79.5% of the Portuguese population is Catholic, ie it is estimated that 8 out of 10 Portuguese are Catholic.

  * Protestants and evangelicals are only 2.8% of the population;  *
  Jehovah's Witness 1.5% of the population.  Among the minority religions, which add up to 6%, are the following religions:
  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) - about 41,917 million believers in Portugal (data released by the Mormon Church);  Islam 20,640 (according to the Census);
  Judaism 3,061 believers (according to the Census);  Anglicanism;  Spiritism;  Buddhism;  Hinduism.

  For the whole earth is a knowledge of the Lord, like charged waters or the sea.
