Let me share personally with each of you this text brother Jérémie Ntirandekura sent me! Very good thoughts! I am so encouraged to see each of you growing into your destiny! Thank you Jeremie!
''And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free''(jn 8:32)
You may wonder,''who was Jesus speaking to those words?''
Of course Jesus was a jew. But the jews didn't believe Him as a King said by Isaiah:
''For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful,Counselor,Mighty God,Everlasting Father,Prince of Peace''(Isaiah9:6).
The problem was that they believed that the King who would be born would be greater and higher than other people.
They thought about Him physically. They were tired of romans' reign. They want the King to fight the reign of romans. But they saw a small young man coming and saying that He's a king.
That may happen to us, to believe someone who's on low level! it's impossible!
Jesus said to the jews the truth many times but to believe it it was very difficult.
So, what or who truth was really?
''Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him,''If you abide in my word, you are My disciples indeed''(Jn8:31).
Therefore jews had to abide in the word of Jesus in order to be His disciples.
No need to say that you are not a disciple of Jesus while you don't abide in His word!!
What does that word mean?
''In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him,and without Him nothing was made that was made."(Jn1:1-3).
Who was in the beginning? Who was with God? Through whom were all things made in? Who was God? I believe that your answer is JESUS.
Jesus is the Truth we have to know. He is also the word we have to abide in. He is also the light of life ''In Him was life, and life was the light of man''(Jn1:4)
The jews didn't receive Jesus as the light.' And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it''(Jn1:5).
It is the same to nowadays. People don't want to hear the truth.
But this is the prophecy of Paul when he was speaking to Timothy about how people will be in last time.
''For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; And they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables''(2Timothy4:3-4).
Nowadays people believe someone who tells them that they going to be rich even if they may not work God is going to give them every thing.
They don't want to be like Jesus.
We have to know that Jesus didn't teach people to be lazy.
Here we must remember that Paul wove tents.Of course God promised the blessings but He will bless us through our works.
BUT LET'S DO THIS AS DISCIPLES OF JESUS!
'Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season . Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching''(2Timothy4:2)
